Pricing

All expenses resulting from HSY's waste management are covered by charges collected from customers.

The waste charges consist of four separate shares:

• the share of the emptying of the waste containers and the transportation of waste
• the share of transferring the waste container from the waste unit to the waste transportation vehicle
• the share of the treatment price at the landfill
• the share of the container rental, provided that the container is not owned by the property

Additionally to these, the waste charge also includes VAT at 23 % and waste tax. 
 
The price list  (available in Finnish) contains prices concerning the waste transportation and waste treatment charged from the HSY customer properties, as well as prices which are charged at the reception stations starting on 1 January 2012.
 
The price list also includes various annual fees, so that it is easier for customers to compare the expenses of different property waste management solutions.
